Overview

PCDH10 divergent transcript (PCDH10-DT) is a presumptive non-coding RNA transcript transcribed divergently from the *PCDH10* gene locus. Divergent transcripts are a class of long non-coding RNAs that originate on the opposite DNA strand of a protein-coding gene, often sharing a bidirectional promoter. There is evidence that other divergent lncRNAs in the nervous system can regulate the expression of their neighboring protein-coding gene, but there is currently no direct experimental or functional information on PCDH10-DT specifically. There is currently no direct evidence or established biological function for the PCDH10 divergent transcript. Some other divergent lncRNAs regulate their neighboring genes in cis or trans, including roles in *cis*-regulation of protein-coding gene expression. There is no direct evidence linking PCDH10-DT to disease. *PCDH10* itself is a tumor suppressor in various cancers, but disease implication for the divergent transcript is not established in current literature. The main protein-coding gene, *PCDH10*, is a protocadherin with established tumor suppressor roles in multiple cancers, but the divergent transcript itself is not a recognized receptor, enzyme, channel, or other common druggable target and does not appear to have a defined molecular or clinical function at present. PCDH10-DT is most likely a long non-coding RNA, not a receptor or traditional drug target. No known active drugs, mechanisms of action, biomarkers, or safety considerations are associated with PCDH10-DT. Function, disease role, and canonical naming remain unclear and are not standardized in major gene or transcript resources.
