Overview

PCF11 antisense RNA 1 is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) located antisense to the PCF11 gene. It does not code for a protein, but as an antisense transcript, it may participate in the regulation of its sense gene (PCF11) through RNA–RNA interactions or by influencing chromatin or transcriptional activity[7][8]. Antisense lncRNAs like PCF11-AS1 are part of a broader family of regulatory RNAs that can impact the stability, expression, or processing of sense mRNAs, possibly through direct base pairing or recruitment of epigenetic modifiers[8]. There is currently no evidence identifying PCF11-AS1 as a therapeutic target, nor direct associations with specific diseases or interaction with approved drugs in the literature or curated databases[7][8].\n\nIf more functional or disease information about PCF11-AS1 becomes available in future research, it can be included under the respective fields. At present, PCF11-AS1 is best classified as a regulatory, non-coding RNA with potential, but not yet demonstrated, biological or clinical roles.
