Overview

PDE3A antisense RNA 1 (PDE3A-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA gene located near the protein-coding PDE3A gene. As an antisense transcript, it is thought to play a role in regulating the expression of PDE3A or nearby genes through RNA-based mechanisms such as transcriptional interference or post-transcriptional regulation. However, its molecular function, biological significance, and clinical relevance are not well-defined. It is not considered a druggable therapeutic target, and its role in human disease, if any, is currently unclear[3]. Note: If your intention was the protein-coding gene PDE3A—which is a well-established therapeutic target in cardiovascular disease, platelet aggregation, etc.—please specify, as "PDE3A-AS1" references a distinct, non-coding RNA with little evidence for its consideration as a therapeutic target[3][5].
