PDE4DIP pseudogene 1 (PDE4DIPP1) is a pseudogene in the human genome, related to the parental protein-coding gene phosphodiesterase 4D interacting protein (PDE4DIP)[5][3]. By definition, pseudogenes are nonfunctional copies of functional genes and typically do not encode proteins due to the presence of disruptive mutations such as frameshifts or premature stop codons[6][4]. PDE4DIPP1 lacks evidence for producing a functional protein, and there is no information supporting a biological role or therapeutic relevance as an enzyme, receptor, or other drug target[3][5]. While its parental gene, PDE4DIP, is involved in anchoring phosphodiesterase 4D to the Golgi/centrosome and is linked to cellular structural organization[1], PDE4DIPP1 itself is not known to have any biological function or disease association and is not a therapeutic target.
