PDE7B antisense RNA 1 (PDE7B-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA located on chromosome 6q23.3 which functions as an antisense transcript to the protein-coding PDE7B gene. As an antisense RNA, it most likely acts by regulating the transcription or stability of PDE7B mRNA, potentially influencing PDE7B-mediated cellular functions via mechanisms such as promoter competition, transcriptional interference, or chromatin remodeling. While antisense lncRNAs are increasingly recognized for their roles in regulating gene expression—including in imprinting and cancer biology—there is currently no evidence that PDE7B-AS1 is directly involved in disease processes, nor is it classified as a therapeutic target. Most available information relates to its genomic context and predicted function as a regulatory lncRNA.
