PDZ domain-containing protein 9 (PDZD9)

PDZ domain-containing protein 9 is a cytoplasmic scaffolding protein that contains a PDZ domain—a conserved protein-protein interaction module composed of about 80–100 amino acids. PDZ domain proteins assemble multi-protein signaling complexes and play roles in processes such as signal transduction, cell polarity, and trafficking. PDZD9 is expressed broadly across normal tissues, but its specific cellular functions, biological roles, and disease relevance remain unclear. It is not currently considered a drug target or biomarker, nor have drugs been developed to interact with this protein. In summary, PDZD9 is a member of the large PDZ domain-containing protein family, structurally well characterized but functionally not well annotated.
