Pecanex-like protein 1 (PCNX1)

Target
PCNX1
Molecular classification
Transmembrane protein, Other (not classified as receptor, channel, enzyme, transporter, or transcription factor; its main feature is conserved transmembrane domains)

Overview

Pecanex-like protein 1 (PCNX1) is a conserved transmembrane protein in humans, similar to the Drosophila pecanex protein, which plays a role in developmental processes through the Notch signaling pathway[2][6]. While its precise function in humans remains unclear, PCNX1 has been implicated in certain cancers through gene fusion events and is associated with small intestine neuroendocrine neoplasm[1][2]. No direct therapeutic targeting, interacting drugs, or known safety concerns are currently documented for PCNX1[2][6][7].
