Overview

Peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase A-like 4F (PPIAL4F) is a predicted human protein and paralog of peptidyl-prolyl isomerase A (PPIA, cyclophilin A), but its function has not been experimentally verified. Based on sequence similarity, it is believed to belong to the cyclophilin family of peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerases, which catalyze the cis-trans isomerization of proline residues in polypeptides and promote protein folding. However, PPIAL4F has been described in some databases as a pseudogene or as having uncertain protein-coding potential[5][7][9]. There is no known evidence that PPIAL4F is an active enzyme or therapeutically tractable target; it is not implicated in any specific biological function or disease, and no drug interactions or biomarker utility are reported.
