Peptidylprolyl isomerase A pseudogene 37 (PPIAP37) is a human pseudogene related in sequence to the peptidylprolyl isomerase family (such as the functional gene PPIA, encoding cyclophilin A), but it does not produce a functional protein product. Pseudogenes like PPIAP37 are typically the result of gene duplication or retrotransposition events and are nonfunctional, lacking coding potential due to mutations. These kinds of genes are common in complex genomes but are not considered therapeutic targets or biologically relevant for direct intervention. There is nothing to indicate that PPIAP37 acts as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or any other traditional molecular target in pharmacology.
