Peptidylprolyl isomerase A pseudogene 45 (PPIAP45) is a human pseudogene related to the gene encoding peptidylprolyl isomerase A (PPIA, also known as cyclophilin A). PPIAP45 does not code for a functional protein, and like other pseudogenes, it is generally not considered a direct drug target or receptor. The biological function of PPIAP45 itself has not been established, but related PPIA pseudogenes have been shown to regulate gene expression through ceRNA (competing endogenous RNA) mechanisms, potentially by sponging microRNAs and influencing the expression of their parental gene or other genes. There is currently no evidence that PPIAP45 is involved in any specific disease or is actionable by drugs. There is no evidence of protein product, drug interaction, or biomarker role in the referenced literature or gene annotation resources for PPIAP45 itself. Related PPIA pseudogenes (such as PPIAP22) have been implicated in ceRNA regulatory networks, but this has not been specifically established for PPIAP45. These pseudogenes are not considered enzymes, receptors, or classical molecular targets. If PPIAP45 is required for structured data extraction or annotation, its status should be categorized as a regulatory pseudogene with presently undetermined, likely indirect, regulatory function.
