Peptidylprolyl isomerase A pseudogene 71 (PPIAP71) is a non-coding pseudogene located in the human genome and annotated in gene databases such as NCBI Gene and GeneCards[5][6]. Pseudogenes are generally derived from protein-coding genes but have lost their ability to encode functional proteins due to mutations or transcriptional defects. While some pseudogenes can generate regulatory RNAs or influence expression of their parental genes, no such function has been reported for PPIAP71 specifically. Therefore, PPIAP71 does not encode an active enzyme or protein, is not a therapeutic target, and has no current research or clinical relevance as a drug target, biomarker, or disease factor. The parental gene PPIA is a well-studied isomerase (also known as cyclophilin A), but PPIAP71 itself does not share these functions[1][5][6].
