Peptidylprolyl isomerase A pseudogene 79 (PPIAP79) is a human pseudogene, catalogued in databases such as GeneCards and NCBI Gene as an inactive derivative of the peptidylprolyl isomerase A (PPIA) gene[4][5]. Unlike functional genes, pseudogenes like PPIAP79 typically do not produce functional proteins. There is currently no evidence that PPIAP79 by itself plays a role in any biological process, disease mechanism, or serves as a therapeutic target. While some related PPIA pseudogenes (e.g., PPIAP22) may have regulatory roles in cancer as lncRNAs[2][7], no such function has been characterized for PPIAP79 specifically. Thus, PPIAP79 is not considered a protein, receptor, enzyme, therapeutic target, or relevant biomarker.
