Peptidylprolyl isomerase like 1 pseudogene 1 (PPIL1P1) is classified as a pseudogene in the human genome and is derived from the peptidylprolyl isomerase like 1 (PPIL1) gene. Pseudogenes are genomic sequences similar to protein-coding genes but are generally considered non-functional due to mutations, truncations, or disruptions that prevent protein production[2][6]. While there is increasing recognition that some pseudogenes may have regulatory activities at the RNA level in other gene families[2][4], there is currently no evidence that PPIL1P1 has such a role or is associated with any diseases or therapeutic mechanisms. It has no known involvement in cellular pathways, is not a drug target, and does not encode a functional protein product[6].
