Target intelligence / Profile preview
The Pericardium meridian is one of the twelve primary meridians in Traditional Chinese Medicine, conceptually associated with the role of a “protector” or “bodyguard” of the heart. Its energetic pathway begins in the chest, runs through the arm, and terminates at the tip of the middle finger. In TCM, it is involved in mediating emotional well-being, especially intimacy and trust, and shields the heart from “external” and “emotional” stressors. The meridian is also thought to support the circulation of Qi and Blood in the thorax and upper limbs. The Pericardium meridian is the focus of specific acupuncture and acupressure techniques designed to harmonize emotions, relieve chest tension, and foster resilience to stress. This framework is unique to TCM and does not correspond to a molecular or anatomical structure in Western medicine.
