The "Peripheral nervous system pain transmission fibers" are groups of sensory nerve fibers (primarily A-delta and C fibers) within the peripheral nervous system that respond to noxious (painful) stimuli and transmit this information to the central nervous system. A-delta fibers are myelinated and transmit fast, sharp, localized pain, while C fibers are unmyelinated and transmit slow, dull, diffuse pain.
