Peroxiredoxin 3 pseudogene 4 (PRDX3P4)

Target
PRDX3P4
Molecular classification
Pseudogene, Non-coding RNA locus (potential)

Overview

Peroxiredoxin 3 pseudogene 4 (PRDX3P4) is a human pseudogene located on chromosome 3, classified as a non-functional gene sequence derived from the peroxiredoxin 3 gene. Pseudogenes like PRDX3P4 resemble protein-coding genes but have mutations preventing them from making functional proteins. While some pseudogenes can have regulatory RNA roles affecting their parental genes or other cellular transcripts, there is currently no evidence that PRDX3P4 is transcribed or has a biological regulatory function. It is not considered a therapeutic target, disease biomarker, or drug-interacting locus.
