Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma coactivator-related protein 1 (PPRC1) is a transcriptional coactivator structurally related to PPAR-gamma coactivator 1 (PGC-1α), involved in the regulation of genes essential for mitochondrial biogenesis and energy metabolism, primarily by interacting with nuclear respiratory factor 1 (NRF1) and participating in the transcriptional activation of nuclear genes related to respiratory function. PPRC1 is inducible by proliferative and metabolic stress signals, integrates pathways controlling cellular proliferation, stress responses, apoptosis, and senescence, and has emerging relevance as a biomarker in certain cancers. It is not an established direct therapeutic target, and there are no known drugs or mechanism-of-action–based therapies that specifically target PPRC1[1][2][3][4][5].
