Target intelligence / Profile preview
PERP pseudogene 1 (PERPP1) is a processed pseudogene located at cytogenetic band 3q28 in the human genome[4]. As a processed pseudogene, it is derived from the PERP gene but contains disabling mutations and lacks normal protein-coding and regulatory activity. There is no evidence that PERPP1 has a known biological role, is involved in human disease, or serves as a drug target. Pseudogenes may sometimes exert regulatory effects on their parental genes or participate in competitive endogenous RNA (ceRNA) networks, but there is no published data indicating such functions for PERPP1 specifically[1][2][4]. In summary, PERP pseudogene 1 (PERPP1) is not a functional molecular target, but rather a genomic processed pseudogene with no established role in human biology or therapeutics[4].
