PHB1 pseudogene 10 is likely an uncharacterized or rarely mentioned pseudogene related to the PHB1 (prohibitin 1) gene. Pseudogenes are DNA sequences resembling functional genes but generally non-functional and non-protein-coding. There is no evidence that PHB1P10 has any direct biological activity, functions as a therapeutic target, or is a relevant biomarker. In contrast, the functional PHB1 gene encodes a mitochondrial protein involved in cell cycle regulation, metabolism, and cancer, while some other PHB1 pseudogenes (such as PHBP1) have reported regulatory roles at the mRNA level. However, there is no scientific evidence detailing the role, function, or disease relevance of PHB1 pseudogene 10 as of this review. Note: If you are specifically referring to another PHB1 pseudogene, such as "PHBP1," that pseudogene has limited evidence for post-transcriptional regulation of PHB1 and may be relevant in some cancers, but "PHB1P10" is not documented in gene databases such as NCBI or GeneCards as of the current date.
