PHB1 pseudogene 2 (PHB1P2) is a human pseudogene related to the prohibitin 1 (PHB1) gene, which encodes a mitochondrial and nuclear chaperone protein involved in cell cycle regulation, apoptosis, mitochondrial function, and other essential processes[2][1][5]. Unlike PHB1, PHB1P2 does not produce a functional protein and is not known to participate in biological pathways, disease processes, or to be targeted by any drugs. Its inclusion as a molecular target is not correct since pseudogenes are generally non-functional copies of genes and are not considered viable drug targets in pharmacology or clinical research.
