Target intelligence / Profile preview
PHB1 pseudogene 7 (PHB1P7) is a noncoding genomic locus classified as a pseudogene related by sequence to the functional PHB1 gene (Prohibitin 1). Unlike PHB1, which encodes a mitochondrial and transcriptional regulatory protein implicated in tumor suppression, apoptosis, and cell-cycle regulation[1][3][5], PHB1P7 does not encode a protein and has no described biological or pathological role. Some pseudogenes similar to PHBP1 (PHB1 pseudogene 1) have regulatory effects on their cognate gene through stabilization of mRNA or lncRNA interactions[2], but there is no evidence or literature supporting such a role for PHB1P7. It is not recognized as a therapeutic target, biomarker, or drug target in published scientific or clinical resources. If you intended another target, such as PHB1 (Prohibitin 1), please clarify; relevant information for PHB1 is available, but PHB1P7 is not a validated molecular target.
