Target intelligence / Profile preview
Phlegm resolution via promotion of qi movement and warming yang" is a Traditional Chinese Medicine therapeutic strategy rather than a molecular drug target. In TCM, 'phlegm' is a pathologic substance not limited to respiratory mucus but encompassing a range of systemic disorders. TCM theory holds that phlegm can be resolved by promoting the smooth movement of 'qi' (vital energy) and by 'warming yang'—supporting the body's metabolic energy. This principle is enacted by herbal formulas such as Er Chen Tang and Liu Junzi Decoction, which contain herbs reported to promote qi circulation, dissolve or transform phlegm, strengthen spleen and lung function, and counteract states of 'cold' or 'dampness.' Therapeutically, this principle is used for various respiratory and systemic conditions but is not a molecular or receptor target as recognized in biomedicine.
Not molecular; TCM theory: promotes qi circulation, dries dampness, "resolves" or transforms phlegm, supports spleen/lung function, reduces "cold" by warming yang
