Overview

Phosducin-like 3 pseudogene 7 (PDCL3P7) is a processed pseudogene that originated from the phosducin-like 3 (PDCL3) gene via retrotransposition. Pseudogenes like PDCL3P7 do not code for functional proteins due to disrupted open reading frames and other mutations, although in rare cases, some pseudogenes have regulatory roles at the RNA level[1][4]. There is no evidence that PDCL3P7 acts as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, transcription factor, or other molecular target class. To date, no studies have linked PDCL3P7 specifically to disease, drug response, or any canonical biological function. Its parent gene, PDCL3, functions as a chaperone protein and has been implicated in angiogenesis, protein folding, and cancer stem cell biology, but these features do not extend to the pseudogene itself[2][3]. No drugs, mechanisms of action, or safety concerns are reported for PDCL3P7.
