Overview

Phosphatase and actin regulator 2 pseudogene 1 (PHACTR2P1) is a processed pseudogene catalogued in the human genome. PHACTR2P1 is homologous to the gene encoding phosphatase and actin regulator 2, but due to mutations, it does not produce a functional protein. Like other processed pseudogenes, PHACTR2P1 may function as a non-coding RNA with possible regulatory activity, such as acting as a competitive endogenous RNA (ceRNA) to sequester microRNAs and thereby modulate the expression of the parental gene or related targets[3][1]. There is currently no evidence that PHACTR2P1 serves as a therapeutic target or has a direct role in human disease, nor is it involved in drug interaction or mechanism of action. Its primary relevance is in the context of genome annotation and potential gene regulation rather than direct clinical or therapeutic application.
