Target intelligence / Profile preview
The Phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase regulatory subunit beta (p85β) is a regulatory component of the PI3K enzyme, playing a crucial role in cell growth, proliferation, differentiation, and survival. It stabilizes and inhibits the catalytic subunit of PI3K and is involved in the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway. Elevated expression of p85β has been linked to tumor progression. It participates in B cell differentiation, the immune response, and intracellular glucose homeostasis. Mutations in p85β have been associated with megalencephaly syndromes.
