Overview

**Phosphatidylinositol-4-phosphate 5-kinase type 1 pseudogene 2 (PIP5K1P2)** is a pseudogene in the human genome. Unlike functional kinases such as phosphatidylinositol-4-phosphate 5-kinase type 1 alpha (PIP5K1A), it does not encode an active enzyme or protein product and therefore does not play a direct biological or therapeutic role[6]. As a pseudogene, PIP5K1P2 is generally considered non-functional and is not a therapeutic target in disease or drug development. PIP5K1P2 should not be confused with the functional kinase genes in this family, such as PIP5K1A, PIP5K1B, or PIP5K1C, which are lipid kinases involved in phosphoinositide metabolism and are true therapeutic targets in a variety of signaling pathways[4][2].
