Phosphatidylinositol glycan anchor biosynthesis class F pseudogene 1 (PIGFP1), also known as psi PIGF, is a pseudogene that resembles the functional PIGF gene but does not encode a functional protein. It has been mapped to the human chromosome 5q35[2][7]. Unlike the protein-coding PIGF gene involved in glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) anchor biosynthesis, the pseudogene is not known to have a biological function and is not involved in human disease or considered a therapeutic target[2][7]. This entry is not a therapeutic target and should not be confused with the protein-coding PIGF gene (Phosphatidylinositol-glycan biosynthesis class F) associated with GPI-anchor biosynthesis[4][10].
