Overview

Phosphatidylserine (PS) is a phospholipid and a key component of cell membranes, especially in neural tissues. It plays crucial roles in cellular signaling, membrane structure, and cognitive function. During apoptosis, PS translocates from the inner to outer leaflet of the plasma membrane, signaling cells for phagocytosis. Some viruses exploit exposed PS for entry into host cells. PS supplementation has been explored for cognitive health.
