Phosphodiesterase 4A (PDE4A) is an enzyme that hydrolyzes cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP), thereby regulating intracellular levels of cAMP. It plays a key role in various physiological processes such as inflammation, memory formation, and emotional regulation. Implicated in inflammatory diseases such as asthma and psychiatric disorders like anxiety or depression. Low expression linked to progression of certain cancers such as ovarian cancer.
