Overview

Phosphoinositide 3-kinase delta (PI3Kδ), also known as p110δ, is a lipid kinase that plays a crucial role in immune cell function, regulating cell growth, proliferation, differentiation, survival, and motility. It is highly expressed in leukocytes, particularly B cells and T cells, where it mediates signaling downstream of antigen receptors. Dysregulation of PI3Kδ is associated with immunodeficiency syndromes and cancer, making it an important therapeutic target. Selective inhibitors like idelalisib have been developed for treating hematologic malignancies.
