Overview

Phosphoinositide-3-kinase-interacting protein 1 (PIK3IP1) is a transmembrane protein that directly binds to the p110 catalytic subunit of phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K), thereby downregulating PI3K activity[1][2][3][5][6]. By suppressing the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway, PIK3IP1 acts as a negative regulator of cell proliferation and is implicated in the inhibition of tumor growth and immune cell activation[1][2][5][8]. Biological roles include the modulation of immune responses and involvement in various cancers and inflammatory diseases[1][3][8]. No approved drugs are currently known to directly target PIK3IP1, and no specific biomarkers or safety concerns have been documented in the publicly available literature[3][6].
