Target intelligence / Profile preview
Phospholipase D isoform 1 (PLD1) is an enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis of phosphatidylcholine to generate phosphatidic acid (PA) and choline. PLD1-generated phosphatidic acid plays a key role in membrane trafficking, signal transduction, and neuroendocrine function. Altered expression or function of PLD1 has been implicated in several diseases, including cancer and neurological disorders.
