These factors promote cell migration, extracellular matrix deposition, and angiogenesis, which are critical for restoring tissue function (NIH, 2018). In a therapeutic context, this system is modulated by anticoagulants to prevent pathological thrombosis or by procoagulants and fibrin sealants to manage hemorrhage and accelerate surgical repair (PubChem, 2024). Because the term encompasses a broad range of distinct molecular entities rather than a single receptor or enzyme, it serves as a functional category for describing the biological processes of blood stability and tissue regeneration.
