Phytanoyl-CoA hydroxylase-interacting protein-like (PHYHIPL) is a human protein encoded by the PHYHIPL gene on chromosome 10. It is primarily located in the cytoplasm and may play a role in the development of the central nervous system and cell metabolism, although its specific molecular function remains uncharacterized. Gene expression is detected in multiple tissues, with elevated levels in the kidney and involvement in certain disease states such as gastric small cell carcinoma and potentially as a protective gene in glioblastoma. No drugs or targeted therapies are known to interact with PHYHIPL, and its relevance as a direct therapeutic target is unsubstantiated at present.
