PIEZO1P1 is also known by aliases such as bA164D18.1, C20orf83, FAM38CP, and family with sequence similarity 38, member C, pseudogene. Unlike the functional PIEZO1 gene, which encodes a crucial mechanosensitive cation channel involved in cellular mechanotransduction and is associated with multiple physiological and pathological processes, PIEZO1P1 does not translate into a functional ion channel and therefore lacks established molecular function, disease relevance, or known drug interactions[2][3]. As such, it is not a therapeutic target or considered for pharmacological intervention.
