The PiggyBac superfamily comprises mobile genetic elements known for their ability to move within genomes, but PGBD4P3 does not encode an active transposase and is not mobile; as a pseudogene, it has lost protein-coding potential and is not expected to produce a functional protein product. Pseudogenes like this can occasionally affect gene regulation through RNA transcripts, but there is currently no evidence that PGBD4P3 has any direct biological function or disease role. Because it is a pseudogene with no known function or interaction with drugs, and is not a therapeutic target (receptor, enzyme, transporter, etc.), it does not feature in mechanistic, safety, or biomarker discussions.
