Target intelligence / Profile preview
PINX1-DT, or PINX1 divergent transcript, is an RNA gene located at cytogenetic band 8p23.1 near the PINX1 protein-coding gene. It does not encode the canonical PINX1 protein, which is a telomerase inhibitor and tumor suppressor[1][5][7][9]. The function, regulatory mechanisms, and pathological roles of PINX1-DT are not well characterized, and it is distinct from the biologically active PINX1 protein that participates in telomere maintenance and cancer biology. There are no established drugs, biomarkers, or safety concerns specifically related to PINX1-DT, and it is not considered a therapeutic target. Misidentification is frequent due to the similarity in name to the protein PINX1.
