Overview

PLA2G4C antisense RNA 1 (PLA2G4C-AS1) is a non-coding RNA (ncRNA) located on chromosome 19q13.33, acting as an antisense transcript to the protein-coding gene PLA2G4C (Phospholipase A2 Group IVC)[1][3][4][5]. As an antisense RNA, it participates in regulating the expression of its associated protein-coding gene, but its precise biological role has not been well characterized. While many antisense RNAs have been implicated in cancer and other diseases through regulation of gene expression, specific biological functions or disease mechanisms for PLA2G4C-AS1 remain to be experimentally validated[2]. There is no current evidence that PLA2G4C-AS1 functions as a therapeutic target (such as enzyme, receptor, transporter, etc.), nor are there known drugs or biomarkers directly associated with it.
