Target intelligence / Profile preview
Placental growth factor 2 (PlGF-2) is one of the isoforms of placental growth factor (PlGF), a member of the vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) family. PlGF-2 is a key regulator in angiogenesis and vasculogenesis, particularly during embryonic development and pregnancy. It is unique among PlGF isoforms for its strong binding to both neuropilins and heparin and its restricted temporal/spatial expression in early placenta. It modulates vascular development, pregnancy health, and pathological angiogenesis in cancer.
