Plasminogen activator urokinase-type receptor (uPAR)

Target
uPAR
Molecular classification
Receptor, Glycoprotein
01

Overview

Plasminogen activator urokinase-type receptor (uPAR), also known as the urokinase receptor or CD87, is a multidomain cell surface glycoprotein. It plays a key role in pericellular plasmin formation, cell adhesion, migration, invasion, proliferation, survival and angiogenesis. uPAR is implicated in tissue remodeling during physiological processes and pathological conditions such as cancer invasion/metastasis and vascular damage, making it an attractive therapeutic target.
