Plasminogen-like protein B (PLGLB1)

Target
PLGLB1
Molecular classification
Other, Secreted plasma protein, PAN/APPLE-like domain
01

Overview

Plasminogen-like protein B is a secreted plasma protein encoded by the PLGLB1 gene. It exhibits similarity to the N-terminal activation peptide of plasminogen and can bind lysine residues on plasminogen's kringle domains, potentially modulating plasminogen activity and extracellular matrix remodeling. Expression of PLGLB1 is variable between tissues and is upregulated in some cancers. Its clinical role is unclear, and there are no drugs that directly interact with this target. The protein is not considered an enzyme, receptor, or transporter, but is grouped among plasma proteins with structural homology to plasminogen.
