Overview
Plasmodium falciparum circumsporozoite protein (PfCSP) is the major surface protein of the sporozoite stage of the malaria parasite, *Plasmodium falciparum*. It forms a dense coat on the sporozoite's surface and is essential for parasite development, motility, and invasion of host hepatocytes. PfCSP is also the primary antigenic target for leading malaria vaccines such as RTS,S (Mosquirix®).
