Overview
Platelet-derived growth factor receptor beta (PDGFRβ) is a cell surface receptor tyrosine kinase that plays a critical role in cellular signaling, particularly in processes such as cell proliferation, migration, survival, and differentiation. It is essential for normal cardiovascular development, blood vessel formation (angiogenesis), and early hematopoiesis. Mutations or chromosomal rearrangements involving PDGFRB can result in various pathologies, including myeloproliferative neoplasms and leukemia. Abnormal activation has been implicated broadly across diseases characterized by abnormal cell proliferation or fibrosis.
