Overview
Platelet-derived growth factor receptors (PDGFRs) are cell surface receptor tyrosine kinases that mediate the effects of platelet-derived growth factors (PDGFs). There are two main types: PDGF receptor alpha (PDGFRA) and PDGF receptor beta (PDGFRB). Both play critical roles in cellular signaling, development, and disease processes. Abnormal activation or mutation of these receptors is linked to various diseases, including cancer and cardiovascular disease.
