Target intelligence / Profile preview
Platelet factor 3 (PF3) is a phospholipid component of the platelet membrane, primarily phosphatidylserine. Upon platelet activation, PF3 is exposed or released from the platelet surface and provides a catalytic surface necessary for the assembly of coagulation enzyme complexes, thereby facilitating thrombin formation and subsequent clot development. It is essential for normal hemostasis and represents an important diagnostic marker.
