Overview

PLCH1 antisense RNA 1 (PLCH1-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) transcribed from the antisense strand at the PLCH1 locus. Like other antisense lncRNAs, PLCH1-AS1 does not encode a protein but instead can influence the expression of genes nearby (in cis) or elsewhere in the genome (in trans) through a variety of mechanisms, including chromatin remodeling, interaction with regulatory proteins, and modulation of transcriptional interference. These RNAs are recognized as important regulators of gene expression and chromatin states across diverse biological processes, but there are currently no published studies linking PLCH1-AS1 specifically to therapeutic targeting, validated disease mechanisms, or clinical interventions[1][3]. As a member of the antisense long non-coding RNA molecular class, it may play regulatory roles in development, stress response, or disease contexts like cancer—yet, as of now, there is a lack of disease- or drug-association data for PLCH1-AS1 specifically[1][3].
