PLXDC2 antisense RNA 1 (PLXDC2-AS1)

Target
PLXDC2-AS1
Molecular classification
Long non-coding RNA, Antisense RNA
01

Overview

PLXDC2 antisense RNA 1 (PLXDC2-AS1) is a long non-coding antisense RNA located opposite the PLXDC2 gene locus. Antisense RNAs in general regulate gene expression through mechanisms such as transcriptional interference and modulation of chromatin state, but there are currently no publications specifically describing the function, biological role, disease relevance, or clinical importance of PLXDC2-AS1 in humans.\n\nImportant distinction: PLXDC2-AS1 is not the same as the PLXDC2 protein, which is a validated cell-surface receptor and has roles in PEDF signaling, cancer, and vascular biology. PLXDC2-AS1 is a non-coding RNA with little or no data linking it to clinical targeting or drug development.
