PNRC2 pseudogene 4 (PNRC2P4) is a human pseudogene related to the proline-rich nuclear receptor coactivator 2 gene family. Pseudogenes are non-functional genomic DNA sequences similar to normal genes, frequently arising by gene duplication or retrotransposition. While some pseudogenes can regulate their parental genes or participate in non-coding RNA networks, there is currently no evidence that PNRC2P4 encodes a protein or has a known biological or clinical function. This pseudogene should not be confused with PNRC2, a distinct protein-coding gene involved in RNA decay, mRNA processing, and nuclear receptor signaling.
