Overview

Poliovirus serotype 3 (PV3) is one of the three serotypes of poliovirus. It is a non-enveloped RNA virus that can cause poliomyelitis, a paralytic disease. While wild-type PV3 has been eradicated, vaccine-derived strains continue to pose a risk.
