Target intelligence / Profile preview
The inactivated poliovirus vaccine (IPV) contains antigens from all three serotypes of poliovirus: type 1, type 2, and type 3. These antigens, derived from inactivated virus, elicit a protective immune response by stimulating the production of neutralizing antibodies. The key neutralizing epitopes are located on the surface-exposed proteins VP1, VP2, and VP3. The primary function is to provide immunity against poliomyelitis.
Induces neutralizing antibodies against poliovirus types 1, 2, and 3, preventing viral entry into host cells.
